Recently more and more people realize that they have become so inefficient in almost every aspect of their lives. These inefficiencies bring negative impact to the surrounding environment. The immediate effect is the deterioration of the environment quality which loosing its capacities to support our lives.

Every day we see a lot of report from all over the world; news on catastrophic events happening mostly caused by “human error” simply caused by their greed in exploiting the natural resources and their negligence for the sustainability of it. Global warming, massive flood, food and energy crisis has become so popular and intensified by the irresponsible human habits in everyday life.

If we wish our future generation to inherit those beautiful rivers with its crystal clear running water, thick dense green forests, fresh air free of pollutant, food and energy sustainability then we have to do something about our irresponsible habits. We can bring big positive impact by employing small effective and responsible steps towards greener home living in our daily life. We can start by changing our habits in our own home.

We can start by finding a new way of utilizing and conserving our fresh water sources, evaluate whether we have been wise and effective (volume wise) with our usage. Change all electrical equipment/products to ones that proven as energy efficient. Change all home products concerning home maintenance into “green cleaning products”, buy and use only biodegradable products, manage our waste by classifying them into recycleable and non-recycleable, reduce the use of fossil fuels which combustion emits green house gas and build our house using local building materials.

Those are small things that all house hold around the world could start green living step by step, and if we can achieve these together the impact will be very positive and our lives and home will be greener than ever.

People are trying more and more nowadays to do everything they can to boost their green credentials, particularly around the home.

There are some simple measures you can take to try and make sure your property has plenty of eco-friendly characteristics and helps to reduce your carbon footprint. If possible, try to look for sustainable hardwood doors and engineered wood flooring for your home. This is a great environmentally-friendly solution to some of the problems that the planet as a whole is facing at the moment. If the wood you’re using comes from well-managed sources, it can really help to reduce the number of trees being felled throughout the world.

You can do some other things when you’re redecorating to ensure you’re being less harmful to the environment as well. When it comes to choosing the paints you’re going to use, try to look for those with fewer chemicals in them, as they will damage the environment far less than more traditional varieties on the market. Doing your bit to help the environment could also benefit your finances, so it’s worth bearing that in mind, even if you have to pay out a little extra in the short term in some cases.

You can save some money around the house by opting for eco-friendly and energy-saving lightbulbs around the place. Energy-efficient bulbs use significantly less electricity than their traditional counterparts, so you’re bound to see the difference in your energy bills at the end of each month – particularly in the winter when it gets dark far earlier in the evening.

It’s worth doing everything you can at the moment to save the planet, as it’ll be your children and grandchildren who will be left to deal with the effects of climate change and global warming in the years to come.
